The time has come!

Well, it's the night before my first 1/2 marathon & I'm excited! Race starts at 7am & it's suppose to poor rain! Looks like it's gonna be a wet one. :) Jess bought me some new running shoes tonite that are soo awesome...can't wait to use them tomorrow. Gonna get some good sleep, get up & make it happen!

Ok peeps...I know I told you about the Avenue of the Vines 1/2 marathon weeks ago, but, I didn't actually sign up until today. I don't know why I waited till the last minute? Oh well, I'm so excited!!! So in one week I will have accomplished running my first 1/2 marathon! No backing out now because it's official! Whoo hoo! Also, my hubby is showing his support by running the marathon with me. Lol, you know someone loves you when they are willing to run 13.1 miles with you.♥ So, ready or not, here I come!

We came, we saw & we walked...for the Health Of It of course. ;) It was a beautiful sunny day in Lodi for a 5k walk. Most of the walk was through scenic Lodi neighborhoods & many of the neighbors stood outside their homes cheering us on & we had fun cheering on the 10k runners! There were plenty of water stations keeping everyone hydrated & the local police had fun handing out stickers to the kids. There was even a face painting station that the kids had fun at ( even I had a lil something done). It was an enjoyable experience for everyone. It was great having the kids out there...& my mom gave her new hips a run for their money!

Running for the Health of it!!!

This saturday my family along with my parents are doing a 5k walk for the Lodi Memorial Hospital. Both of my mom's parents passed away at this hospital before I was even born...this walk has special meaning & I'm looking forward to this walk with my family in memory of my grandparents. ♥

Avenue of the Vines? Or Avenue of the Wines? ;)

Well, in the mist of my crazy life I forgot to mention that I did in fact choose to run the Avenue of the Vines 1/2 marathon on May 15th.  I'm actually looking forward to running this race....I know that if I can run this race, I can definitley run the marathon in October. :))

It's official...I have lost my MIND!!!

That's right people!!! I NEVER, NEVER, NEVER thought I would sign up for a full marathon...who am I kidding? I'm almost 40, have 4 kids & I'm extremely busy. Exactly when would I have time for that??? Well, with the suggestion from a girlfriend (thx Michelle) of mine, it all became possible! Along with 39,000 hopeful women we resistered for the Nike Women's Marathon...and got chosen!!! We and 20,000 other women from all over the country will have the great honor to run this great event. :)

I didn't realize how special this really was untill I kept hearing other friends of mine say that they didn't get chosen for this race...some of them for the 3rd & 4th year in a row now. And little ol me gets chosen the very first time! Go figure!!!

So, I'm scared...I'm happy...I'm oficially crazy too! All I know is that this mama is gonna make it happen...and did I mention the pretty little medal we get when we finish? It's not your ordinary marathon medal (which are nice too) but, this is a shinny Tiffany's necklace...that's right, how great is that!
